Community Health Network of Connecticut Foundation, Inc. held the fourth annual A Modern Tea event on Feb. 7, 2009 at the New Haven Lawn Club. A Modern Tea is an event that celebrates the American Heart Association’s national “Go Red for Women” campaign.

A Modern Tea is not a typical tea party, however, but rather an afternoon that aims to delight the five senses while providing information on this serious health issue.

The event, which attracted more than 200 attendees, included a tea station that featured teas from around the world and the health benefits of each; an oxygen bar; a red dress fashion show; massage stations; acupuncture; overall stress relief; a “Heart” boutique; and professional make up applications among other items.

A Modern Tea was sponsored by Community Health Network of Connecticut, Inc., Yale-New Haven Hospital and Citizen’s Bank.
